Design Workshop Inc. is an award-winning, national firm practicing landscape architecture, land planning, urban design and tourism planning. We're always looking for talented and motivated people to join us and are currently seeking a Marketing/ Business Development professional for our Santa Fe, NM office location. 

The principal responsibilities of this position are managing and implementing the office’s sales efforts. These responsibilities include a leadership role in the planning, preparation and execution of all SOQ’s/proposals issued by the office. Additional responsibilities include organizing and managing marketing efforts, assisting in developing and organizing support materials as well as identifying leads and preparing proposals and presentations for potential project work. 

Candidate should be organized, possess strong writing and editing skills, be deadline-oriented and possess the ability to manage projects and work well in a team environment.  Thorough knowledge of at least four of the following software programs is required, familiarity with all is preferred: InDesign, Photoshop, Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Deltek.  A bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or related field in addition to a minimum of 4 years previous experience preparing written and visual materials for promotional, educational or marketing purposes required.

Regional Marketing Manager

The Regional Marketing Manager provides supervision and consultation for marketing efforts affecting assigned territory. Responsible for management and oversight of marketing efforts in the Rocky Mountain Region offices. Collaborate with staff at all levels company-wide. Promote the seller/doer marketing approach; assist Operations Manager, Directors and Project Managers in the development and execution of marketing plans; provide mentoring to WHPacific staff in nurturing existing and new clients; and assist with identifying and coordinating branding opportunities.

Manage the marketing staff in the Rocky Mountain Region, maintain marketing reports and statistics, develop and implement marketing strategies with business line directors and office managers, provide appropriate marketing training to technical staff, coach and prepare teams for shortlist interviews and sales presentations, conduct client debriefings and meetings; and represent the company in appropriate community and professional organizations.

Identify and initiate opportunities for internal and external publicity. Coordinate and collaborate with other members of the WHPacific corporate marketing team on company-wide marketing initiatives, policies, and products.

Actively involved in the proposal/presentation process by providing project management over proposals/presentations from concept through development and final presentation and will delegate proposals/presentations appropriately among the team. Actively oversee the competitive proposal process which includes distributing/evaluating project leads, guiding Go/No-Go decision-making, selecting teams, assigning resources, facilitating strategic thinking and theme development, writing and desktop publishing final proposals, and providing senior-level QA/QC of marketing team’s submittals.

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Public Relations, Journalism or Marketing is preferred
  • At least 8-10 years of experience working in an Architectural/Engineering or related professional services firm.
  • Must have previous experience supervising staff in a similar field.
  • Advanced writing skills are essential.
  • Extremely detail oriented, demonstrate sound judgment, and be able to work under minimal supervision.
  • Must demonstrate a high degree of tact, a proactive approach to problem-solving, a commitment to client service, and the ability to work reliably under pressure.
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills are required.
  • Ability to organize and maintain large volumes of work.
  • Software knowledge should include Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Previous database experience using Deltek CRM or GovWin is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop and/or Illustrator is also a plus.
